LatPro.com Job Posting File Format (XML)

Introduction

While job postings may be posted individually using our HTML form, it is possible to post jobs in batches rather than one-by-one. This document describes the file format and procedures so webmasters and programmers can post multiple Jobs to LatPro.com. For business and account issues, please contact our Customer Service Department at

Development and Testing Procedures

Once you have built your test file (using the specifications outlined throughout this document), send the batch file via email to . We'll run the file, check for errors and review the postings overall parameters and appearance. We will also provide access to our dev server so you can review the import results.

Batch posting to Production

Once all errors are dealt with and the job postings' parameters look adequate, we'll supply you with an FTP account so you can upload batch files to our production server.

To sending batch files to our production server, you or your client must have a recruiter account already set up. If you have a Standard Account, each posting will generate an invoice; if you have a LatPro Plus! Account, discounted job postings are available to you as part of that package.

Completed batched files, including those files that contained processing errors, will be deleted. The Tracking and batchIdFile fields [explained below] should be used to recreate any data that was deleted because of errors.

Data Format

The file is a xml file according to our XmlJobPosting.xsd definition. [Download here]

For further technical documentation see the complete xsd schema documentation here.

Requirements

Your system must be able to create the xml files with the proper codes and according to our xsd schema definition.

Your system must be able to FTP the files to LatPro.com’s site.

Because we manually review all the jobs posted in the LatPro system, we do not allow replacement or editing of jobs through this batch mechanism. Jobs may be edited individually online or by contacting customer service. Therefore, send all your jobs every day and set newIndicator to "M" (for maybe) [explained below]. Set close_all_old_jobs to "Y"[explained below] if you want to close all jobs not included in that Batch file. This indicator will make sure that any job you send gets published and any job you don't send will get closed (we use client position ID as unique identifier).

Please supply a technical contact email at the field additional_confirmation_email [explained below] (example: "techContact@yourcompany.com"). This is email should go to someone who will take the time to read any error messages that may get generated by your jobs.

Filenames are case-sensitive, must be unique, and must end in ".xml". Please don't use spaces in the file names.

If you are sending jobs on behalf of multiple clients with their own LatPro accounts, each clients' jobs must be sent in a separate file, although they may all be uploaded to your FTP directory.
